Assist. Prof. Mehmet Ali Başak, a faculty member at our School of Islamic Studies, attended the international conference "The 6th International Seminar on Islamic Law (ISIL)" organized by Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) in Indonesia, as an invited speaker on September 22, 2026.
Participating in the conference online, Assist. Prof. Başak delivered a presentation titled "An Instrument of Access, Not a Party to the Ruling: Artificial Intelligence and the Boundaries of Religious Counsel among Muslims in Türkiye".
Organized under the theme “The Future of Islamic Law and Artificial Intelligence: Ethical, Juridical, Methodological, and Societal Transformations in the Digital Age”, the conference served as an international academic platform examining the intersection of Islamic law and artificial intelligence across ethical, juridical, methodological, and societal dimensions.
