Asst. Prof. Navid Chizari, from the School of Islamic Sciences at Ibn Haldun University, delivered a presentation at the international conference titled “Poetry and Knowledge: The Production and Transmission of Knowledge in Arabic Verse (1100–1800)”, organized by the Institute of Arabic and Islamic Studies at the University of Münster in Germany, on November 20–22, 2025.
In his presentation titled “Theological Unity through Poetry: al-Qaṣīda al-Nūniyya by Tāj al-Dīn al-Subkī,” Navid Chizari explored the function of Arabic didactic poetry in the expression and transmission of theological (kalam) knowledge, specifically examining the unifying styles and strategies employed in Taj al-Din al-Subki’s aforementioned qasida.
The conference brought together international scholars to explore the relationship between poetry and knowledge production in the Arabic intellectual tradition. The revised conference papers will be published in an edited volume.
