Learning Outcomes of MA Program (30% English) in Islamic Studies
Student, who successfully completes the MA program, graduates with the following knowledge, skills and competence:
- Knows/Demonstrates knowledge of, at least, one of the fields out of Tafsir, Hadith, Islamic Jurisprudence, Kalam and Sufism at the level of expertise and establishes its relationship with other disciplines. / identifies its association with the other disciplines.
- Knows and evaluates the main sources of the discipline he/she prefers as an area of expertise and successfully utilizes them in his/her researches.
- Comprehends and explains the origin, emergence and development of his/her discipline in its historical context.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the basic concepts, subjects, methods and problems of his/her discipline and expresses them consistently.
- Critically evaluates the historical experience and accumulation of knowledge in his/her discipline and utilizes them in the scientific studies.
- Keeps himself/herself constantly updated following the recent developments and discussions in his/her area of expertice via the reliable sources in Turkish, Arabic and English.
- Independently develops his/her knowledge and skills acquired at advance level and undertakes original publications, projects and researches.
- Make use of at least three languages at an advanced level, thus establishing permanent connections with well-esteemed scientific circles at national and and global level.
- Complies with the ethical rules of the academic integrity in his/her researches and develops social consciousness and responsibility to act for the benefit of society and individuals.
