Learning Outcomes of PhD Program (30% English) in Islamic Studies |
1. Knows, at least, one of the fields out of Tafsir, Hadith, Islamic Jurisprudence, Kalam and Sufism at the level of expertise, analyzes new and complex ideas using the interdisciplinary approach and synthesizes the conclusions he/she reached with the data of his/her discipline. |
2. Analyzes the fabric of thought inherent in the basic sources of the discipline chosen in the light of his/her world view and utilizes it successfully in his/her researches. |
3. Comprehends and explains the origin, emergence, development and schools of his/her discipline in its historical context. |
4. Consistently interprets the basic concepts, subjects, theories, methods and problems of his/her discipline taking the knowledge accumulation of social sciences into account. |
5. Critically evaluates the logic inherent in the historical experience and accumulation of knowledge in his/her discipline and utilizes them in the scientific studies. |
6. Keeps himself/herself constantly updated following the recent and current developments and discussions in his/her area of expertise via the reliable sources in Turkish, Arabic and English. |
7. Independently develops his/her knowledge and skills acquired at advance level and undertakes original publications, projects and researches. |
8. Make use of at least three languages at an advanced level, thus establishing permanent connections with well-esteemed scientific circles at national and global level. |
9. Complies with the ethical rules of the academic integrity in his/her researches, and develops consciousness of social responsibility by observing the needs of the individuals and society, and makes contribution to the adaptation process of the country into information society, and assumes a leadership role with his scientific ability in the solution of social problems. |
