Prof. Dr. Bilal Aybakan, a faculty member of Islamic Studies at Ibn Haldun University, was invited and welcomed by the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training at Maulana Malik Ibrahim Islamic State University in Malang, Indonesia, as a plenary speaker for the 9th International Conference on Islamic Education: Contemporary Challenges and Innovations in Education, held on October 17, 2024.
Following his arrival in Malang on October 15, Prof. Aybakan visited the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training next day to express his gratitude to the Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. H. Nur Ali, for the conference invitation. During this meeting, attended by the Director of International Relations and several administrative and academic staff, Prof. Dr. Nur Ali outlined their intention to establish effective and high-level collaboration between the two universities and mentioned plans to visit Istanbul in about a month for this purpose. The session continued with participation from a group of students. After a brief speech, Prof. Aybakan answered their questions. Group photos were taken, and the dean led a tour of the campus. They later visited the Faculty of Sharia for an exchange of ideas.
Following an impressive and spirited opening ceremony on October 17, the conference sessions commenced. In the first session, Prof. Aybakan delivered a presentation titled "The Interplay between Challenges and Innovations." After the sessions concluded, participation certificates and memorial gifts were distributed, and attendees explored the beautifully crafted booths created by the students.
