“What’s on the Table?” Coordination Meeting Held in the Department of Religious Studies
The Department of Religious Studies within the School of Islamic Studies at Ibn Haldun University convened a coordination meeting titled “What’s on the Table?”, bringing together students and faculty members.

With the participation of students and faculty members of the Department of Religious Studies within the School of Islamic Studies at Ibn Haldun University, a meeting titled “What’s on the Table?” (Tezgâhta Neler Var?) was held on Friday, December 26, at 2:00 PM. The meeting, which took place at the Teoman Duralı Conference Hall, provided an opportunity to strengthen communication between students in the coursework and thesis stages and faculty members, while also offering a platform to share the academic outputs of ongoing studies.

Time, Responsibility, and Evolution

The event opened with a speech by the Head of the Department, Assist. Prof. Feyza Uzunoğlu. Her address focused on the effective use of time, establishing meaningful academic goals, and coping with uncertainties in career planning. Drawing inspiration from Surah al-‘Asr, she explored the concepts of time, responsibility, and personal evolution (tekâmül). Evaluations were also made within the fields of Sociology of Religion, History of Religions, and Psychology of Religion to strengthen students' academic and personal development. Following the opening, Assist. Prof. Mehmet Ali Başak delivered a brief evaluation.

Later, the Dean of the School of Islamic Sciences, Prof. Dr. Hacı Mehmet Günay, expressed his satisfaction with the students' overall progress and emphasized the faculty's ongoing support for such activities.

Academic Sharing

During the meeting, students shared information about the academic studies they are interested in, their areas of interest, and their future plans. The academic work presented by students in the thesis stage served as inspiring and insightful examples for those who are still in the coursework stage. The sharing of experiences by students serving as Teaching Assistants proved to be productive for students interested in taking part in this process. Through the metaphor “What’s on the Table?”, students’ fields of interest and academic activities were highlighted one by one. While faculty members spoke about the academic projects they are currently conducting, students who had been accepted within the scope of the Thesis Support Project and the Erasmus Program were congratulated.

Evaluations were also made regarding the content, progress, and future direction of the Academic Writing Workshop, whose first session was held under the Department of Religious Studies. The event concluded with a quiz and a gift presentation.

The gathering was regarded as a coordination meeting that enhanced academic exchange and solidarity among students.
